My name is Keenan Rhodes, a student and storyteller. I'm 21 years old, I hail from Naptown, Indiana, and my camera is my tool for self expression and my medium through which I tell stories.

I was raised in the Haughville neighborhood, where I was always supported and influenced by members of the community. Through many educational opportunities, my mother, family support, mentorship and community support, I was able to earn scholarships for high school and college at Indiana University, Bloomington, where I now study Global Journalism and Portuguese.

Since my youth, I've learned about the importance of community through being active in my neighborhood and paying attention to how power shapes and controls our thinking. To this day, I've continued studying power dynamics and storytelling through my involvement with Kheprw Institute, a community empowerment based organization in Indianapolis.

I study journalism because it is a field that has the power to shed light on the dark, to hold power accountable, and to change the minds of the masses. Although writing is my first passion, I film because videos can communicate an array of messages, evoke emotions and transport the mind to different spaces.
